Job Responsibilities:
Photo editor will edit photography for daily promo spots, features, photo galleries for the service and for AOL.com. Ability to find, recognize, procure, and edit compelling photography that supports content and evokes strong response from the viewer, while maintaining quality standards. Coordinating the acquisition of images from vendors outside AOL such as Wire services, stock agencies, freelance photographers, royalty free corporations, partners and various other sources. Candidate should know legal aspects of image rights and usage. Candidate will also be required to code images to get these ready for publishing and should have critical thinking skills and be resourceful. Candidate should have a good understanding of the technical and aesthetic quality of images and have strong PhotoShop skills to adjust and manipulate images for best quality. Able to catalog, archive and retrieve photographs from database. Knowledge of, or ability to learn publishing tools and techniques
The ability to articulate editing choices, maturity and communication experience to handle meetings with project team members. Will be responsible for maintaining a production schedule for photographs needed and used on the service. Ability and desire to learn new skills and work in a fast paced team environment. . Photojournalism or equivalent experience is a plus.
